What reviewers say
OutdoorGearLab (Oct 2024) ranked it third of 21 life jackets and measured 28 oz. Testers praised the shoulder mobility, the wide range of adjustment (including shorter torsos), the softer redesigned fit and the well-organized front pocket. Its flotation score was its weakest. They found the front pocket a bit bulky and said the thick, concentrated foam isn't comfortable for leaning back in a fishing seat. REI buyers rate it 4.5 of 5; complaints are that it takes time to dial in the fit, it goes on over the head instead of zipping, and the front pocket isn't waterproof.
Good
- Excellent arm and shoulder mobility for paddling
- Wide adjustment range
- Useful, organized front pocket
- Recycled, PVC-free construction
Not so good
- Pull-over side entry, no front zip
- Front pocket can feel bulky and isn't waterproof
- Not comfortable leaning back in a high-back fishing seat
- Fit takes some adjusting at first
Who it's for
Kayakers and SUP paddlers who paddle actively and want a vest that stays out of the way. Anglers who sit back in a high-back seat, or anyone who wants a front-zip jacket, should look elsewhere.
