What reviewers say

Reviewers like the grip. The finger choil and offset nose make the pliers easy to hold and aim, and the build feels well above cheap pliers. Both Man Makes Fire and Pro Tool Reviews explain that the jaw tips are built with a slight gap so the cutters close first; a firm squeeze closes the tips. The cutters handle mono and fine tippet well but are weaker on braid. Pro Tool Reviews wished the pliers were about an inch longer for deep-hooked fish, found the plunge lock a bit loose, and noted the black handles get hot in Florida sun.

Good

  • Comfortable, secure grip with finger choil
  • Replaceable jaws and reversible carbide cutters
  • Corrosion-resistant finish for salt water
  • Sheath and lanyard included
  • Lifetime warranty

Not so good

  • $100 is a lot for pliers
  • A bit short for deeply swallowed hooks
  • Cutters are not great on braided line
  • Lock felt loose to one tester
  • Out of stock on the maker site right now

Who it's for

Anglers who fish often, especially in salt water or from a kayak, and want pliers that last. Skip them if you mainly fish braid or need long-nose pliers for deep hooks.
