What reviewers say

Every review agrees on one thing: it has far more caffeine than other instant coffees, roughly three times a typical packet. CleverHiker liked the bold, chocolate-forward, low-acid flavor and found the packets held up well in a pack, but its tester could only handle one cup a day. Outdoor Life was much harder on the taste and named caffeine as its only real strength. So the flavor splits opinion; the strength does not. It also costs more per serving than grocery-store instants.

Good

  • Very high caffeine in one packet
  • Flat, light packets that travel well
  • Organic and Fair Trade certified
  • Works hot or iced

Not so good

  • Too strong for many people; skip it if you're sensitive to caffeine
  • Taste is a love-it-or-hate-it dark roast
  • Costs more per cup than basic instant coffee

Who it's for

Early risers who want one strong cup and light packing. If you like a mild cup, drink coffee all day, or are sensitive to caffeine, pick a regular instant or a pour-over packet instead.
