What reviewers say
GearJunkie named it a top compact kit in July 2026; the reviewer measured 5.88 oz and found the inner DryFlex bag kept everything dry even when the outer shell soaked through. She liked the quality of the tweezers and tick tool and the clear inner bag. Both GearJunkie and SectionHiker say the quantities are thin. SectionHiker's Philip Werner thinks it fits a solo or family day hike and does not cover two people for four days without adding supplies. REI buyers rate it 4.8 of 5 and mostly wish the outer bag were a bit roomier.
Good
- Light and small
- Two-layer waterproofing that holds up in testing
- Clearly labeled, easy for anyone in the group to find
- Good base to add your own items
Not so good
- Low quantities of many items
- Little room to add extras
- One main compartment, so you dig for things
- Outer bag soaks through if submerged; only the inner bag is waterproof
Who it's for
Day hikers, kayakers and anglers who want a dry, ready-made kit for short outings. Skip it as your only kit for big groups, long trips or remote backcountry; plan to add supplies.
